Borrowed this album (Live and Love LAP 006) from the public library.
I don't know Pat Kelly really. However, I always thought it was more like "lovers" style. What I hear is more dj style here, to me it sounds more like e.g. Tapper Zukie. Can some tell me
Is this really Pat Kelly?
Is this really The youth and youth dub album we are hearing?
Sound sample below:

Mark,
The download is showing as 45mb. Are you able to upload it as an mp3?
Regards
Rob

I'm pretty certain this isn't Pat Kelly. Sounds more like a young U Brown that the Mayfield-esque crooning voice of Pat Kelly.

Re: Need some help: Pat Kelly - Youth and youth dub
can you enlight me please?
This set is a dub set? Or is it a vocal one?
From your description it sounds like a dub set with deejay intros.
Actually, Pat kelly mixed some dubs @ Tubby's during the late 70's. For instance these two sets:

This is extremely rare and I am very astonished you got it from your public library.
This is not a vocal album. On vinyl, side A has the toasting versions by various DJs with the dubs following on side B.
Sadly I don't have the tracklist (only a cdr I recorded from an old tape) and I am searching for this treasure for more than 20 years but I know for sure that the original cover information of that record says that it was produced and mixed by Pat Kelly at King Tubby's Studio. The record came out in around 1977.

Re: Need some help: Pat Kelly - Youth and youth dub
Thanks to all of you.
Bellyman, I will send the usual to Seb so he can add it to the archives. For now the tracklisting on the sleeve and label is as follows:
Side 1
1 Chasing who?
2 Cursing me
3 Who cares
4 Please yourself
Side 2
1 Searching
2 Delilah
3 Gun in the arena
4 Crank shaft
5 Chicken George
Produced & arranged by Pat Kelly
All tracks written by Pat Kelly
It's hard to match the listing with what one hears though.
