Anyone know of a good source to get accapellas from roots artist from 1977-1982?

Don't know of any actual accappella per se. That being said I know there are some records that are recorded with vocals in one channell and music on the other. Certain versions of Blackboard Jungle Dub and at least one of Big Youth's LP's i think its "Screaming Target". There may be LP's Like this that other folks can hip you to. Hope this is helpful

The only ones I know are from videos : you obviously have Jah no dead, Burning Spear, in Rockers. You also can see Joe Higgs singing Creation in the Roots Rock Reggae documentary (if I remember it well).

there's also like screaming target a I-Roy album
the voice in one channel and the instrumental in the other wich yu can rip the voice only with a computer can't member the name but if my memory no wrong me its "Touting i self" yu have also Linton Kwesi Johnson-acpella album...
and someone will come around with some more titles...
