I could be wrong, but I don't think it's him. At 1:17 into the song, the lyrics start off "baby if you walk with me and you talk with me..." That sounds like somebody else. It's a great song.

I don't have the record but a friend of mine sent me the song and it is James Brown 'Leaving on the Train' - man that drove me crazy for a long time too...

The James Brown cut is nice but I like the Max Romeo one better - just wish it was a longer song.
