greensleeves 12 inches

Post by RastaJA »

Are the greensleeves 12 inches much different from the one\'s that appear on the LP???
I mean the 1978-83 era.

For example, I heard over by a friend, Jah Give Us Life, by the wailing souls, the 12 inch from 78. But is it different from the one that appears on the best of in 84 of the wailing souls?

And how about other 12inch singles of greensleeves in the 1978-83 era??

Much love,

The 12s usually have extended versions.

If you like what you here on an LP and see it on 12 inch disco, buy it. You'll get the same but more of it! Sometimes different mix, sometimes same LP mix with added extended mix (plus sometimes another mix on the flip). It's very rare for the 12 inch to have the exact same mix and track length as the LP. It happens, but not often.

Plus if the LP or 7 inch track you heard is a vocal, you may get DJ and Dub versions on the 12 which the LP doesn't have.

Big up the 12 inch discos, they rule!

Can only second what Leggo Rocker says, trust me, you need the 12 inch if you like the LP version.

12" is king. I agree to all said above. AND...12"es do have a better sound than LP releases.

Yes!

Best sound. Best duration. Best Mixes.

Another advantage is that they allow you to be selective over which tracks you pick.

If you only really love two or three tracks on an LP of 10 tracks, then you can seek them out on 12 inch. Instead of a bunch of tracks you don't like hiding the ones you really do, you'll get up with three tracks you like, all with extended stylee and/or versions!
