I got the 1-5 on the original Gibbs so cant comment on the re-issues other than to say there all Wicked in their own right. In fact, there my probably favorite Dub sets.

Do not have the Nth Pde releases but the JG Europe releases are fine.

Do the Nth Pde albums have good liner notes (any release)?

No, the originals dont tell you much other than the players of instruments.

Mi hav CD dat collects Chapters 1 & 2 an CD dat collects 3 & 4. Sound quality is changeable: some tracks excellent, some tracks nuff weak.
Mi tink more great Chapter is 2. "Rythym Tackle" (Chapter 4) is a favourite for Iver.

i have the original of number one and the sound is the worst of any record in my collection

i bet that hearing it with good sound quality would be like a whole different album

It's one of the hardest, maddest and baddest dubs of the era!

Yes, I would NOT call them SOFT,
maybe a bit gimmicky for some with all the bells and whistles
BUT these are KILLA classic riddims and great dubs for real.
