Its no more the case with me but I can understand, yes. And listening to other types of music certainly teach you a lot of things about reggae music and your tastes.

I had the same years ago, but no more. At that time, I hadnt a sufficient stock of great chunes, so that I was listening too much to the same stuff. Nowadays my collection has grown and I can find everyday chunes Im really willing to hear, and can avoid saturation. It's great, as reggae really bring me a different feeling, energy and support in my life, that I cant find in any other music, even if I love them.

For me reggae its the best music . I think this situation can be experimented in other things , its the same like when u have a girlfriend maybe u love her but sometimes is normal that you want to be alone and without your girl.

Peace

Poorbeats,
I have to agree with Litelet. When my collection was first starting, I used to switch over to some other things for a while and then come back to reggae, but as my collection has grown, I find myself listening to reggae almost exclusively.

Chris

P.S. Your English seems great to me.

it's a waste to listen to reggae only, it borrows from other genres, and inspires others, everyone talks about trees can't live without their roots, reggae didn't start by it's self, and many of the greatest songs and riddims were reggae interpretations from other music

buy some stevie wonder albums, you'll like them :)

Definitely poorbeats...

especially with roots music....

boring stuff after a while, especially when they all get so repetetive...

i switched to 80s dancehall .. still dipping in to my favorite roots records...but still found myself needing a break from reggae every so often..

Its all prefrence, i've always like different types of music so ill always listen to all kinds of music.

Plus when you take a break from it, you might appreciate it more when you come back to it.

sometimes bored with it, but reggae is just one of several forms of music in the mix for me, to only listen to it would be boring in the long run. there is too much good stuff out there to only listen to reggae, like jazz, blues, soul, folk, older country music, funk, african etc

I listen to music from all over the planet so am rarely bored music-wise but it does occasionally happen. I dig out an audio book, film or a real book when it happens - or go for a long walk. Dub always gets me back in the groove after a little break though :o)

Listening to Mali female singer Rokia Traoré as I write this - her Mouneissa album - and was previously listening to Eek-A-Mouse Dubs :o)

As Ital Ras says

" Plus when you take a break from it, you might appreciate it more when you come back to it. "

Ditto!
