this is from david katz's "solid fountaion" book.

"according to Alimantado, the rhythm track for "BDC" was the result of a jam session at Dynamics funded by Lenroy Moffatt and a number of other individuals; though spontaneously created, the chord structure was later found to be similar to Bill Wither's "Aint no Sunshine", previously recorded by Ken Boothe."

so apparently the rhythm track was created on the spot for Tado, a totally new recording that had never backed another's song. the book goes on to say that several artists altered Moffatt's rhythm to create other songs off of it.

that is what the book says, according to Tado. that is all that is written about the track, other than it was a huge success for the Ital Surgeon.
