Beverley Williams - Sufferation

In a dance this week-end, had the occasion to hear this one tune and to discuss a little bit of it...

Is it right that it has nothing to do with a Shaka Production, but that it would come from an american studio?
But then the date.. 1976!!!
Incredibly ruff rockers for such a year, isn't it?
Maybe the reggae abroad of Jamaica took that sharp rockers turn before the Island itself..

but Shaka certainly spinned it a lot!

I'm not sure but i had another 12'' on that label (moses levi - enemies) and it was recorded at Tuff Gong Studio...so i think that Shaka Label is from Jamaica and not from America!

Anyway...Tuff tune,one of my favourite in my collection!

No connection to UK`s Jah Shaka, on the label was also two other Fredlocks tunes - When Oh When, and - Hear What The Old Man Say,(Moses Levi is also Fredlocks), there were some other tunes too.

Of what I remember, its the only crucial tune on that label (You have some Judah Eskender Stuff too on it, but wea in comparison, imo), and yeah, its really great. And the only chune of the sista. No link with Shaka for sure... even if he certainly played it once!

And yeah, its true its kind of early... you cand find rockers from '75 but they usually dont kick that hard!
