i have been a fan for some time now. i feel they do an excellent job in recreating an authentic rocksteady sound.
although rocksteady is not my favorite form of reggae music these guys do a good job. i am curious to see what other hardcore roots fans think.
what do the people of RA think about the aggrolites?

Re: what do the people of RA think about the aggrolites?
oh yes, I love the band! sweet organ sound.
a band I would love to check out live. I heard some live stuff with them that was very funky..
when I by chance first heard some of the instrumentals from the album "Dirty Reggae" I couldn't believe this was stuff recorded in 2003!
It had this really authentic ska/punk/reggae whatever sound.
I suggest all reggaeheads to check these guys out. One of the few modern reggae bands I like.

Going to rile a few people with this thread
,but thanks to my 18 year old daughters` boyfriend,I`ve listened to, and got,a couple of Aggrolites CD`s.Not too keen on "Reggae Hit L.A " as I consider it a bit gutless, but " The Aggrolites " is a far better sound.Almost like early Upsetter in places," Gravedigger " being a good call.

Yes they sound like early Lee Perry/Upsetters stuff ! GREAT !
The only dis I would have is it gets a bit much with a full lenghth CD listen,
but in small bites it is great.
Also check THE DEAD 60s, from Liverpool, for CLASH sounding tunes.

I love the Aggrolites, saw them a couple of months ago and it was a great gig. Scott Abels (Hepcat) was on drums so it couldn't go wrong. The organ was amazing too. They did a mix with covers from the Maytals, Derrick Morgan, Max Romeo...I wished they had done 'ain't too proud to beg too' but they didn't.

I love them too. I've seen them twice. I first heard (some of) them as the Vessels.
