Classic Roots artists makin' chunes inna Modern Time.

Post by jahganja7 »

greetings idren and sistren.

first of all i must say that i listen to absolutely no new roots (no capleton, luciano, etc etc.) its not for me, i prefer the classic sounds of 70's early 80's JA. but lately i have been exposed to a few new albums put out by classic artists, and been impressed by the vintage instrumentation and sound, conjuring up vibes from 70's JA (ie NO DIGITAL NOTHING!!!).

Clinton fearon's "Dubwize" set caught my attention, nice dubs with a great vintage sound.

I also picked up Michael Rose's "african Roots" disc and was so impressed by the sound quality and instrumentation, i got his 2006 release "warrior" and enjoyed it just as much.

What are some other albums with classic sounds/vibes put out in the last few years by foundation roots artists that you all like? i would love to hear your opinions and possibly pick a few up...
