On from thos thead io decided to play a few Wackies tunes tonight.

One thing it has made me realise is just how good some of their compilation albums are.

Wackies Selective Showcase, Jah Children Invasion and Reggae Goodies Vol 1 & 2 to name just a couple.

I also have a compilation of 12 original City Line singles. This is a fantastic roots selection and includes 2 versions of Jah Skerta song "Darkness" which is a track I have liked a long time. Its a compilation that for some reason is not listed here.

Hey Jah Rootsman! That City Line 7s compo sounds very interesting. Is that a home made thing or that an LP? I have 2 or 3 early Barnes productions on 7 inch and they are killers.

Ron,

You depressed me:)

Having African Roots Acts 1-3 I thought I only miss one, but there are another two!

But as they say, collecting reggae is never-ending:)

I have African Roots Act 3. Has a few good ones, but overall not too impressive. I wouldn't sell it, though. "Nature's Dub" is not bad.

I got that Jah Skerta 7 (red label Wackies lion) amongst the 50 or so 7's, not a huge fan of it so if you got anything trade or want to buy it (see I say trade first, money second) I'd be into it.

I really like Creation Dub, and of course the African Roots Acts. Recently got Act 5 and was pleasantly suprised - better than people might expect if you can stand the digital sound creeping in. I tend to find that all wackies can particularly bad on a poor quality system but blows your mind on a good set up. Often wondered why this is...

also saw one called Partfounder dubstation in Jammyland a while back, which was definitely wackies but not on the basic channel label. The dude there didn't know what it was so I left it. Intriguing though...
