Buying Vinyl. A (humurous) Guide

I'd like to inject a bit more of a light-hearted feel back into our Forum here. So here's a 'Guide To Buying Vinyl' and it is only meant as fun. Please feel free to contribute.

Vinyl can be expensive. It is also highly addictive. If you plan to buy vinyl you must either be living alone, plan your divorce now, or learn how to say "Yes darling, as many pairs as you want" *and* sound like you mean it, whenever your woman asks if she can buy some more new shoes. Better still, keep a very large stash of cash in a secret place and give it to her each time she asks for more shoes. Repeat as often as necessary. Then, each time she moans about the size of your vinyl spend, point to her shoe collection and say, while handing her a large wad of cash: "Girl, never mind my record but I see you don't have enough shoes. Please let me drop you off at the mall so you can go stock up."

i would have to agree seeing as how i find myself lieing to people (good friends non the less) saying i bought only 1 record this time, when in truth, i bought 3 or 4...

it really is a sad thing.

I also find myself lieing or 'bending the truth' i keep saying to people im going to cut down or have cut down, then get onto a shop online and buy 5-10+ records or see a tune i really want on ebay that never comes up and *have* to buy it.

2 could be:
make sure you buy a house with spare bedroom, as you'll need this space to fill up with records and musical equipment, ensure the girlfriend is happy with the single bed that *just about* fits in the corner of the room.

too true, i always lie about how many records i buy, i will say "dont worry i only spent twenty dollars" when in reality its more like 60 or 70 dollars each trip

More advice:

Get friendly with a good back-doctor. You're going to need one lugging all those crates of vinyl around. A hernia surgeon is also gonna be useful at sometime too!
