Benjamin, despite our difference of opinion on details here it is obvious we both share a central pillar of thought. We believe in peace and love. And I respect you for that.
I have also been taught to respect the religious beliefs of others and not to try an shift people from their faith to another. It is the faithLESS that need our help.
I know many vegetarians who have no faith, so being veggie alone does not make anyone superior or indeed pure.
I have no idea what H.I.M.'s dietary details were but I am not Rasta and I personally don't believe he is an incarnation of God. I am a Gaudiya Vaishnava not a Rasta so many our views will be always separated.
Yes, he was a King from an unbroken line of Kings and must have anyone's respect, Rasta or not, for having taken birth in that exalted role. And I will not be the one to judge him or criticise him for to be born a Great King is a sign that I (and others) should respect him.
I could show you many prophets and saints from my own faith and hold them up as an example of proper living but that is not the correct thing to do. You have very strong faith already and I am very happy to be a witness of that.
To finish, there is one thing we do agree on. We must love one another and turn our back on the wicked who seek to destroy all faiths except the mistaken and evil faith that money, possessions and power are our Gods.
.......
This thread should really be in the Rasta reasoning section as this is indeed what we are doing here and I love it! I could spend my time like this until I die and always be happy.
One Love!

Nuttin in common wid The Gospel of Mary Magdalene wat yu seh an others apocryphals.
"And they did eat the produce of the Earth and drank the juice of rippened fruits, even as the Holy Law commandeth"
EDENITE 11
Of course, Simon (Peter) an im brother Andrew were fishermen but:
"And He said to them, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men!
At once they left their nets and became His disciples"
MATTHEW 4;19-20

And that comes VERY early in the Bible. And I have always thought of the early biblical text to be the least corrupted by man.Jah Titus wrote:Ites!

And apart from such clear instruction from the Most High, we have to consider the terrible damage to the environment of the meat-bizness. Why is the Amazon Rainforest burning? To breed cattle, or to grow Soya to feed the same cattle. No other reason. They hardly even bother to harvest the valuable wood, they just slash and burn. And because this land just cannot support this treatment, it soon turn to dust after a few short years of grazing. SO they need to cut more. Man cuts out his lungs to feed his face - crazy evil stuff that. Man can't eat if he can't breathe.
This isn't opinion, this is fact.
Stuff like this, for me at least, is proof of what is REALLY God's will.

The Jesus I'm talking about is the Jesus Haile Selassie himself worshipped and the gospels I read are the very same that Haile Selassie himself used to read as a very fervant orthodox tewahedo christian. And I will discover with much interest the gospels you're mentionning if I can find it and their history.
-Don't know how saying Yeshoua used to eat fish and multiply food is heathen thing, because if it is so , than the words of Rastafari himself would be heathen thing too.
-Fully agree with leggo about the environmental question and with Jah Titus about the Genesis quote.
-The gospels I n' I read were written and selected by the orthodox fathers well before Rome and the Vatican became the center of Christianity. I agree Rome is the betrayer, the false teacher and the bloodsucker.
Much respect

It´s sure dat exist a fishermen Rasta Bredrin tradition ina JA. Dem adopted de apostle´s reference as fishermen an fishes+bread "miracle" ting why dem lived at de seaside an nuff days de only way fi SURVIVE was eat fish.
I&I talk bout seaweed+bread (seaweed is food fram de sea) ting or even fruits+bread. Pictures wid shape of fish were a Christian communication way ina adversity times of persecution. Only a symbol

There are scholars who insist that Jesus' multiplication of food was simply done by adding water to grain and sprouting them. Thus producing a highly nutritious food that had also massively increased in bulk. A hand full of grain make s lot of sprouted food.
There are others that insist Jesus took the fishermen and said "I will now make you fishers of men" indicating that he wished them to give up pulling living creatures from the sea and killing them.

Re: vegetarians and reggae
It is easy to find a scripture to say eating meat is wrong, and just as easy to find one to say it is right.
But I have yet to hear an argument that justifies the eating of animals, or fish (which have a face and thus are animals), when we simply *don't* need to.
Farming of meat is causing world destruction and starvation as it robs the poor farmer of grain to feed western cattle. It is a terribly inefficient in it's use of land and water.
I can also show anyone who wants to listen irrefutable scientific evidence that *proves* not argues, but *proves* we were not designed to eat meat.
So how can it be right to continue this evil habit?

Yes it does.Wiuch came first the chicken or the egg?
I think if leggo re-read my initial comments on first thread ,he/she would realize we are more alligned in thought then leggo thinks.
Except Theese - that Humans survived and advanced further because of meat.meaning at one time if we did not eat meat humans may have become extinct as well.
- Small quanites of meat from a good source is ok for human diet.
- And i doubt evil would go away if meat consumption would stop (thats really stretching the veggy debate
).Imo religion and money are the evils.
- Various religions all the time practice animal slaughter.
- Im sure the list of meat eaters of famous important human contributors far out weighs the veggy one.
But in the end i dont care to post links to back up my chat opinions,i dont really want to influence or control people (thats kinda chat room creepy).I just hope it make them think of the big pictur€e.And if anything i have said makes people want to be a veggy cause they went and learned more on their own.THEN PERFECT.Or decided to be a concious person and buy and eat the right meat.THEN PERFECT.

While I see we agree on many things and our hearts are aligned in a similar way. That above statement is bogus IMHO. It has absolutely no foundation in science or anthropology. This theory is just thrown around by people to try and justify their killing animals to eat.B wrote:Humans survived and advanced further because of meat.meaning at one time if we did not eat meat humans may have become extinct as well.
I believe the reverse is true. When man started to kill to eat the start of the downhill decent into this present evil system began.
Like I said before, I can show you all the signs that prove man was *designed* to survive as herbivores.
I'll dig out the article and post it here later.
