What does everyone think about which particular inner sleave is best,
and what about a rubber slip mat instead of a cloth one to reduce static maybe?
and what is everyone else cleaning their records with?
Blessings

1. Best sleeve is probably old fashioned poly-lined paper but they're expensive to buy these days. Plain paper usually does me fine, but I can't live with the JA style thin plastic bag that scrunches up whenever you put the disc in the cardboard outer. :X ...and yes, I know I just invented a new word there.
2. I think they used to be made out of rubber but then switched to a felt-like material when scratching became popular.
3. An impregnated anti-static cloth and occasionally a record cleaning liquid if it's for everyday usage. But if you search around the forums for tips you'll find all kinds of remedies for discs that are in very bad condition - even washing-up liquid and a scrubbing brush!
I get most of my accessories direct from this place. They have free UK mainland delivery but I don't know if they're geared up for international orders.

Agree with you... Those plastic bags are just pure sh;t!
Takes you 3 minutes to put the record back correctly in the cardboard sleeve...
I use for the precious records a paper sleeve with plastic inside, the contact bewteen the record and the sleeve is softer when you take them out. I cant find them for my 7" but they are quite easy to find for 12"...
Guidance

lol Rasta, Fe sure those plastic bags are for the birds man!
i wasnt sure about the paper ones, i was kinda thinking they would scatch the record a little easier, maybe just surface scuffs but i mean still.

Thanks for the suggestion, it doesnt look like they ship international though seeing as how it is a courier service for delivery.Version Control wrote:1. Interesting to hear about some links to find inner sleaves, for 7 i also use all cardboard outer sleaves and paper inner.
Those plastic 'bags' they put in with some records i find useless, especially when trying to put the record back into them when dj'ing and time is precious, its a shame that they didnt keep with the nice paper ones as it presents the record as almost 'cheap'
Rubber slips, not sure about static removal as i dont use them, thick and heaby, i would think their inability to move on the deck would increase chances of accidental scratching though thats just a thought.
I use a standard cleaning cloth (with liquid) for standard cleaning and stick the records on a moth rcm pro cleaning machine for deep cleaning when the record is really in need, i believe Leggo also uses one of these and can vouch for its performance.

This shop and the website are great if you can understand german language. Sadly, they don't have an international catalogue.
