Luciano.

Post by staas »

everyone is always talking about how great luciano is and i don't get it? no matter how much i try, luciano is boring, there's a still shrink wrapped luciano cd at the used store that i'm gon buy, but if i don't like it i'll be even more confused as to why luciano is so popular.

what's your favorite luciano song? i need to hear something i like so i can stop being annoyed when people talk about how great he is.

Not everyone can listen to artist like Luciano because he is so spriritual and talks a lot about daily struggle.

I can recommend some songs that might help you

Good Times
It's me again Jah
Love Jah and live
Send dem come - with Bushman
Forward Jah Jah Children - with Jacob Miller
Talking bout feat: Morgan Heritage

Try digesting these ones then maybe you can move on

Respect always

Luciano is one of my favourites of modern roots and has a voice that reminds of the late Dennis Brown.

He has recorded loads of great material and here are some suggestions on truly great songs (in no particular order).

• Black survivor
• Bounty lover
• Jah is alive
• Lord give me strenght
• He is my friend
• Carry Jah load
• Jonah
• Final call
• When will I be home
• Come down Father
• Alpha & Omega
• Serious times, serious measures
• No night in Zion

Enjoy!

Plenty of exceptional Luciano singles on the Xterminator label. The thumping roots dub sounds on the version sides is THE business. Check them out!!

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum, so "hello." Some of you may already know me from Blood & Fire's board.

About Luciano- he is one of my all time favorites. I agree that he hasn't really topped his "Where There Is Life" album, but "A New Day" comes close. "Messenger" has some fantastic songs too. I also agree that he is releasing too much stuff in recent years. A solid album once a year would be better than 3 half-decent ones in my opinion.

As for fav Luciano tunes...

Sweep Over My Soul
He Is My Friend
It's Me Again Jah
Lord Give Me Strength
Who Could It Be
Where There Is Life
Blast Off
Raggamuffin
Over The Hills
Never Give Up My Pride
Guess What's Happening
I Am Not Sorry
Ulterior Motive
Poor and Simple
In This Together (w/Louie Culture & Terror Fab.)
Journey
A New Day
