If its true, than its a sad day for reggae music, i love joe gibbs, i would just buy anything from Gibbs label, even without listening to it...

If this is indeed true then Reggae music has lost one of it's great producers.

One of Jamaica`s top record producers in the 1970`s. Joe Gibbs is dead.
Mr. Gibbs died Thursday night at the university hospital of the West Indies after suffering a heart attack.
He started his music career as a technician but made history in the Jamaican music industry with the production of several popular songs.
Under his belt were songs by the likes of Beres Hammond , J C Lodge and Dennis Brown.

One of Jamaica`s top record producers in the 1970`s. Joe Gibbs is dead.

Without Joe Gibbs (and Errol T) and the African Dub series there would be a lot fewer reggae fans out there.
I know this from personal because I used those records back in the late 70s to blow the minds of countless hippies, disco-boys, bikers and punks who didn't yet know they were into reggae.
Sadly missed they are, but remember:
