Junior Reid best album?

Post by Survival »

What do you consider Junior Reids best CD/LP?
I haven't got anything of Junior Reid and am thinking of purchasing one soon.
So, I would like some recommendations :)

Hi Survival,

Definately this one is a great place to start.

[cover=3463,3697]

Then after that I would go for "Original Foreign Mind"

The 5 albums that he shares sides are also worth checking out for sure. My order of preference would be

Back To Back
Double Top
Firehouse Clash
Face To Face
Two Of A kind

I also enjoyed him with Black Uhuru. I won't get into
the which was better...the group with him or Michael Rose. I like both very much.

I would also check out these albums:

Voice of Progress - Mini Bus Driver
Visa
Big Timer
Boom Shack A Lack

IMO all very good....I say the best is Original Foreign Mind though

Ites!

Lost Vinyl Classics a mostly great selekshan but its sound quality is nuff improvable. Ina dis time there´s one big Jr Reid tune dat sounds nuff often ina mi yard. It´s "Dreadful Day" a remake of Jr Reid´s "Jail House" classic by imself an Poor Righteous Teachers pon House of the Rising Sun riddim ina hip hop stylee riddim

Check out his earlier works with Flacko Palmer from Negus Roots label, specially as lead singer of the group Voice Of Progress.

His best solo albums are Original Foreign Mind & Boom Shack-A-Lack. There's plenty other good stuff from Jr. Reid but you can't go wrong with these.
