this is why:

1 search = 1 cent donated (to 'good' causes)

Survival, because for every search you do $0.01 goes to something good. If 1 million searches was done every day (which I don't think is unreachable at all) it would mean $10000 donated to these organisation **every day**!

I've made it my default search engine in Firefox. Greenpeace will get my clicks.

A little more researches about this engine seems to show that the lack of transparancy is really questionnable, and that the website could be some kind of hoax.

So you should prefer this certainly honest ethic engines :

www.veosearch.com
www.hooseek.com

until more info come about ethicle.
