Re: needle?
Ites deh!
Please don´t ruin ya vinyl. Usually you can trust your ears. A harsh or muddy sound may indicate a needle change.
To check ya stylus shape exactly I would recommend to see it under the microscope. We do have a professional shop in Kreuzberg. I think, the have a microscope. Address: Schalldruck HiFi, Dr. Jörg Meyer, Katzbachstrasse 36, 10965 Berlin-Kreuzberg, Phone 785 00 37. Open mondays to fridays 12 to 6 pm + saturdays 10 to 2. Next station is U-Bahn Yorckstrasse. Just walk a couple of 100 meters to reach the shop.
Their site is schalldruck-hifi.de
Another shop is Hi-Fi im Hinterhof, Großbeerenstrasse, Kreuzberg. They are experienced but sometimes unfriendly.
They can tell you more about stylus and players. I would show them the player, too to check te geometry of the arm, etc.
A really great online shop is dienael.de (Needle is Nadel in German) They have a lot of experience and sell stuff of all prices, even for small money. They really know a lot. Email or call them 02133 - 210 433.
Good luck!
Nuff greetings,
