all i can say is keep checking ebay.
the records youre talking about
are way out of print, and probably
very small quantities were pressed.

Try vinylnet.co.uk for some Aswad singles on Island, however my brother and I were avid fans of pre commercialised Aswad and I've never seen Back To Africa and Three Babylon as 12" releases. The first Aswad 12" I've ever seen was It's Not Our Wish / Stranger, and that was on Grove Music, distributed via Island.

Re: searching for some aswad tunes -
thanks for the link - have seen some interesting vinyl on there.
Back to Africa, as far as i know was, as you said, never released as a 12". i am looking for the island 7" version - WIP6312. i have seen it on eBay and it has gone for silly prices.
Three Babylon - although released on island as a 7" WIP6338, i have been told that it was released as a 12", by someone who was well known in the music journalism business. he told me that he had it but was not prepared to copy it for me. i can not find any info to support his claims or even any other person that has it or knows it exists.
i am always on the look out for any rare Aswad releases - i have most, if not all, of there releases, even the "commercial" stuff (for sentimental reasons you understand) but the list above has always escaped me. i also have it on good authority that there are some dubs in circulation for the songs on the first Aswad LP "Aswad", which i would love to get my hands on.
