it depends on what you like but for me anything backed by aggrovators,soul syndicate,revolutionarys,upsetters,black diciples,professionals is probably from the 70's

you have to watch out for the upsetters though because they were around long before any of the other guys.

albums i recomend, (you might already have them)

earl zero-only jah can ease the pressure

delroy wilson-for i & i
-sarge
-money

african brothers-want some freedom

dennis brown-visions of dennis brown

yabby you-conquering lion
-ram a dam
-chant down babylon kingdom
-deliver me from my enemies

horace andy-pure rankin
-natty dread a weh she want

linval thompson-cool down
-i love marijuana
-six babylon

burning spear-marcus garvey
-man in the hills
-dry and heavy
-scocial living

soul syndicate-harvest uptown famine downtown

pablo moses-revolutionary dream

johnny clarke-enter into his gates with praise
-rockers time now

gregory issacs-extra classic

fred locks-black star liner

junior byles-beat down babylon

culture-two sevens clash
-africa stand alone
-baldhead bridge
-cumbolo

bunny wailer-blackheart man
-struggle

justin hinds & the dominoes-jezebel

i have only scratched the surface from this great time period for roots music. what is interesting is to see the complete evolution that happened through that decade

I guess the answer depends on what it is you already have in your control!

But greg's given you a pretty good list to add to whatever you already have. But it's all vocal stuff, do you want dubs too?

If so, start with the Revolutionaries output on Well Charge label. This is great, basic, steady, roots dubbing. Stuff like these:

[cover=2730,3151]
[cover=7957,1706]
[cover=6695,4620]
