tune i.d.
been looking for a tune for years now, i thought it was officer by freddie mcgregor but turned out it wasn't. i remember a few lines of the tune, it went something like "mr officer i beg you ease up.......straight until the morning....cool down this here pressure....... also in the tune he has line ".....rice, heinken, red stripe" i heard the tune back in '91. i've checked other tunes with officer in the title (half pint, barry brown, earl zero, etc) but nothing matches. i also thought it was by freddie mcgregor so maybe it's another tune by him. any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

I'm not sure if you found it, but I had the same exact problem for a very long time. I did a very extensive search today. Thanks to your thought of Freddie McGregor I found out it was him. The song is Ease Off by Freddie McGregor. Now I'm looking for a full audio, as I only heard a clip that confirmed this.sonnyburnit wrote:been looking for a tune for years now, i thought it was officer by freddie mcgregor but turned out it wasn't. i remember a few lines of the tune, it went something like "mr officer i beg you ease up.......straight until the morning....cool down this here pressure....... also in the tune he has line ".....rice, heinken, red stripe" i heard the tune back in '91. i've checked other tunes with officer in the title (half pint, barry brown, earl zero, etc) but nothing matches. i also thought it was by freddie mcgregor so maybe it's another tune by him. any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

you are right, it is Freddie Mcgregor.
Ease Off is a 1992 Fattis Burrel production, i have it on a VP pressed 12": Gold Disc Label, the B-side features Buju Banton - Yardie, one of his first tunes

Thanks for the confirmation. I saw that album while I was searching, but I only heard about 30 seconds of the song. Better than nothing I guess. Another thing, it would be great if there were some lyrics out there for this.Jumbo wrote:you are right, it is Freddie Mcgregor.
