...and probably a vicious dog kept in the car to stop them getting stolen if Bullit's experience are anything to go by!

Hahhaaaa!!!

6x9's aren't that desirable though.
They'd be bolted to the back dash anyway so...
Without climbing into someones trunk upside down they'd be virtually impossible to remove.
The subwoofer enclosures and amps are the real targets.

Thanks for the responses --

To be honest, I'm not looking to spend more than $100. I'm not really too big into sound, I'm actually not looking into getting like a booming system at all -- my car is sort of old, I think it's like a 94 or 95...I'm worried it'll die soon as it is, so if I did make the jump to get any speakers (which is doubtful), I'd want to pay on the low-end...
I was wondering, what defines a 3-way speaker? I looked on a major company's website, and saw them advertising 3-way speakers, I think pairs, for under a hundred, and then the installation was like $45-$50...I'd want to just replace the two that are in the door panels, and the two that are in the back by the dash...
I'm just always scared those will blow out! To be honest if I drive a newer car the stereo system built-in is usually ample...

Regarding the dog security method.

A long while ago a friend of mine who wasn't the best driver in the world crashed his car into a stationary Mercedes. The Merc was brand new and the owner had left his dog inside the car to keep it safe (the car that is!).

When the crash occurred the dog went crazy inside the car and literally covered the inside with dog urine and dog crap.

Although the exterior damage was not too severe the Merc was a total insurance write-off because of the dog-gone damage to the interior!
