It is about one love and unity, so how does this eliminate my right to discuss what I like and dislike. It was simply an opinion and should be taken as that. I'm sorry you were offended as it was far from the intention.

If you are really trying not to offend- I would avoid comments that imply that I (or anyone) know less than you do. Those types of things usually tend to piss most people off. I may very well know less about "funky reggae" than you. I am fine with that. What I took offence at was the "i dig in crates and you don't" comment and the "I know more than you do because people ask me questions for compilations" comment. If you wanted to suggest something other than Toots be my guest. That's why I visit the foum--to learn something I don't know. I would just appreciate a nicer tone.

Your insinuating that, I never said anything of the sort of "you know less". If you remember correctly (the thread is right there), you were the one to call me uninformed and that was my retort.
I could have worded my digging remark better, my bad. Have you heard records from the 50's with the word "funk" in the title?

My suggestions are above, hope you like them. It could be you find them "unfunky".

I'm not "insinuating", I'm inferring. However, I don't think anyone could take those comments any other way.
Uninformed is exactly what I meant. If you compare what "funk" music IS and HAS BEEN with Hibbert's sound they draw from the same rhythms, sources, and vibes. It's a fact. I didn't make it up. Like I said, even the most well known funk/rap artists can be incorporated into his sound because it all has the same flow. If you do not think Toots is "funky" (how silly is this argument), then you must be in disagreement with the common use of that word.
As for you being "sorry I was offended." That's really nice but YOU can't be sorry for something I did. If you really want to apologize you might try apologizing for what you said instead. Anyhow, reggae is reggae. Let's focus on it.
