Cultural Roots - 'Pretty Woman'

Post by Bellyman »

You can find this real fine record at
www.roots-archives.com/release/1311
Can somebody come up with informations according the recording dates, original release on vinyl maybe or a story to why this album, which imo is from the period between the 'Hell a go pop' and 'Running back to me' albums (1984-1988), of all companies was released on the Lagoon label (pirates pirating pirates) ?

The first three LP are real killers IMO. From the list it misses the "Cultural Roots" LP (AKA "Revolutionary Sounds").

The first two "Cultural..." (from 79/80)& "Drift..."(from 80 or 82) are solid Germain prods. Can't remember exactly the date, I have to check. There is also a dub version of the first LP.
The third one "Hell A Go Pop" (from 84) is a very
good Junjo prod. There is on this LP a KILLER lover tune on the Police In Helicoper riddim (Love Feeling) which is my fav cut on this riddim. As a 12" with "Hell A Go Pop" on flit it is a must have for Junjo production fans.

Was the Pretty Woman album ever released on vinyl? Been listening to it lately and it's such a fine set.

the 'meets bob & jimmy' album can't be from 1983 as it has a Jammy's digital riddim from 1987 on it.

they have two KILLER singles -
"run around lover" on hightower
"cemetary" on blue mountain

as good as anything on the LPs
