Is this Freddy McKay?

Post by rasdragon »

http://media.putfile.com/Good-Old-Days-91

I am sure this is Freddy McKay but I have been told this is titled as Peace, Love & Unity - Good Old Days (i have it on a 7" PRE) matrix: BT 2770, any ideas or are both answers right? I ask cause I have a 12" 'Fire Burning' on the Love Unity label (Canadian pressing) & unless there is a singer change up, Freddy McKay wasn't present for this session. (BTW a very killer track imho, a worthy investment to the collection if you come across this 12")

Speaking of the Tubby's beep, the Peace Love and Unity has quite a nice dub (beep included).

i can't listen putfile but i think i have this 7''

I don't think that he is Freddie McKay...he is Abe Broadway (maybe abe broadway is the real name of freddie mckay?!?!?!) , the singer on (i think) all the "Standar Records" 7''...and on some other Label

Also had an Abe Broadway on Tradition records with an Upsetter version likely recorded at Black Ark

i have another 7'' by him on Arabic 7'' The Deplomats (Abe Broadway) - Jam Down Girl

But "Good old Days" is the best tune i hear from him!

Just listened to the soundfiles on these links....
Good ol days sounds just like Freddy McKay....The Fire Burning tune does not...IMHO
