Ale Muniz might be a good place to start, he has some great roots out, as well as Herva Nativa, tribo de Jah. another too that i really enjoyed is Leoes De Israel...

ponto de equilibrio was one in particular that i was forgetting. i enjoy them a great deal...
i will check the others out poorbeats, thanks.
portuguese is an absolutely beautiful language sung (or spoken) and it goes so well with a nice roots riddim

Try to find artists from state of Maranhão. The capital, city of São Luis, is called "Brazilian Jamaica".
Tribo de Jah and Ale Muniz, for exemple, are from Maranhão.
Look for Celia Sampaio, Capital Roots, Guetos, Legenda, Filhos de Jah, Santacruz, Kazamata...
Nice vibrations!

Re: Brazilian reggae
The only Latin American group i can think of which is not Brazilian but from Chile and that`s "Gondwana".A very good modern day group which still retains a roots driven style and is top notch especially albums like "Second Coming","Together" and "RAS Portraits" are all well worth purchasing with regards to espanol roots reggae.
Peace out!(tu)
