Do you think it possible to give a name to this tune taken out of the *Deep Roots* documentary?
It's the first song from the famous Jack Ruby auditions, and it's an incredible tune, live & direct!
Or is it part of the tunes that where written but never recorded? If it is the case, it's a great luck that the cameraman shot on that day
Just before the three guys sing the song, Jack Ruby ask them if it they ever recorded a tune before, and they say that this is their first tune... any idea?

Hi breda, cant download, but guess you talk about the "break the barriers" song... it was discussed many times already here on RA and B&F, I was totally mad bout this audition too. What seem absolutely certain is that it is unreleased, its a shame as Jack tell them he gonna release it! But my guess, is that there is a real link between dis lead singer and the Jack Ruby production credited to "Sylvester Morgan" called *Ruler of Mankind*. It deeply share the vibe and sound and the atmosphere of this song. Check it around, it was released on FOX.
You're right that there are some similitudes in the singing style... but the *Ruler of Mankind* singing seems a little more deeper; and the harmonies seem not to be sang by the same chorists. But who nows?
The thematic however is quite close. What do the other members think about that idea?

But this acoustic version is simply perfect, and listening to Earl Zero's tune [*Visions of Love*](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8Wi_itF9MA) some acoustic playing are sweeter than the studio version.
Of course, it's more difficult to bring it to the people in a sound system maybe also because of the gap of sub-basses
