Guys,
I thought I had all Johnny Clarke`s albums, but its appears I am missing a few that do not appear on the RA site
They are
Up Park Camp (Justice 1977)
Down ina Babylon (Cha Cha 1980)
History of Johnny Clarke (Micron)
I Man Come Again (Black Music 1982)
Think About it (Jammy Superpower 1988)
Does anyone know these albums and can tell me what they are like.
Also Cornell Campbell 1978 Disco Showcase on the Gorgon Label is another one that I am in need of for completist purposes.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Johnny Clarke - Missing Albums
I doubt the existence of 'Down ina Babylon' as a full length album, only know this one as a 12" single release and featured on the 'Roots & Culture' compilation from Cha Cha (just seeing that this one is missing in the archives !).
'I Man Come Again' is a great album. Featuring Aggrovators in their later guise (from around 1979/1980) with the more dancehall mixing from Jammy's.

Hi Bellyman,
I have that "Roots and Culture" compilation on Cha Cha (CHALP 16).
The Johnny Clarke track "Babylon is not the 12" version of that tune.
We are talking of the same album ? On the cover it has a picture of the earth with an african tribe walking across the cover.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Johnny Clarke - Missing Albums
Just had a listen to it and must admit I am wrong.
The track from that compilation (yes, Rootsman, that's it) has nothing to do with the 12".
Anyway, there was no Johnny Clarke album released on the Cha Cha label.

Re: Johnny Clarke - Missing Albums
Dave, if you have all the others why not sending in the other missing Total sounds albums "None shall escape" and "No woman no cry" to the archives?
How about "SLY & ROBBIE PRESENT THE BEST OF JOHNNY CLARKE". I have seen that one a couple of times but never cheap and was in doubt whether it would be any good and was not able to listen to it.

Mark,
"SLY & ROBBIE PRESENT THE BEST OF JOHNNY CLARKE".
Great album, worth finding.
"None shall escape" on Total Sounds ? I dont have this either, so I guess my list is not as complete as I thought
