my favourite bargains were from a miserly record dealer in Liverpool who put out all reggae records out at £5 each regardless of rarity, he seemed to be under the impression that only prog rock went for more than a tenner.

Over the years I picked up a Black Ark copy of Heart of the Congos, Entering the Dragon on Magnet, Flesh of my Skin… on Mamba, Ready Natty Dreadie on Forward, Live at Aces, and More Creation by Lennie Hibbert.

Another favourite period in the early nineties saw hundreds of singles available for 50p each for a three day period, labels like Banana, Bamboo, Count Shelley, Green Door, Amalgamated, just loads of bargains.

I remember finding a junk shop at the top of Smithdown Rd that in the corner had a bucket of LPs including My Jamaican Girl and The debut Cornell Campbell on Bamboo.

Needless to say these days are over, and I’m stuck with ebay and a monthly excursion to King Bee in Manchester

Figured as much.
Unregistered user claiming ridiculous prices.
Never followed up to questions concerning his purchases, when or where.

Matthew; But not impossible still. I bought my copy of Early B - Four Wheel No Real for $1.5, Yellowman - Nobody Move (on Greensleeves) for $2 and Two the Hard Way with Junior Ranking & Papa Finnigan also for $2. :) Still it's not my best bargains ... but damn fine still.

I bought a copy of Prince Hammer's Bible on vinyl for $8, and Prince Jammy Destroys the Invaders on vinyl for $8. I think they are original pressings because they were used and I 've never been able to find either on vinyl. They also have that vintage smell.

You're right, it's possible.
I just don't really trust un-registered users who's 1st post is claiming exceptional deals on fairly htf records.

And you're also right ... even if it does sound possible it does sound iffy.

you can find every record for $1 or even less, it all depends if the seller knows what he's selling :)
