and talking about adding those categories. I wonder if he listened to all those 4500 albums, because I've seen instrumental albums listed as dancehall and roots as dub etc....

I'm looking forward to reggae-archives.com. Sounds great!
Also bonga's suggestions are well worth considering imho. If you make it more like a wiki where many people can participate the workload would be spread to many shoulders. Hopefully then there would be no reason to limit it to LP and 7", but 10" and 12" could also be included. The possibility to add short soundfiles to prelisten tunes would make it the most useful site on the net.

To add an Lp and a singles should be nice to have a schedule to compile...something like

Artist:
Title:
Label:
Matrix n°:
Year:
Producer:

Upload - Sleeve front/Back , Label A/B , Prelisten

i think that in this way will be very fast to create a good singles archive and add missing LP...it's a long time i follow this forum and i always think to something like this!

REGGAE Archives is thrilling, exciting news. And I don't mean in opening to the time after 'SlengTeng' but opening in time BEFORE 1970s. Full blown Rocksteady (the golden years of jamaican music) and Ska.

Big Up Seb :)

Really fantastic news Seb! Thank you for all your hard work.

Since I got involved on the internet in 1995, I've looked for the ideal forum for discussing reggae music. I am hoping that you'll have these same great people and others at the future reggae-archives.com.

what about a slot for 'views' on topics besides the replies?

If these guys do anything and do it as well as they have done roots-archives.com, it'll always be good.

self moderation ... we'll add some privileges to some of the users that come with the best info so that they can make corrections of other albums whereas most of the users will just be able to add album, maybe through a "submit" page for the first albums they add. Nothing is decided yet about it.

Alright.. because the thing about RA is that is very reliable, don't want that to change in the future if people add things themselves..
