Vinyl value guide?

Post by Jonti »

Is there a site or resource somewhere that details how many copies of each roots release were pressed, how rare/common various pressings are, and their associated (estimated) monetary value?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Not that I know of. In terms of record value, that all depends on how much smaddy want to pay for it.

For examples of values and guide prices for common pressings that are more reliable than Ebay you could try multiple seller sites such as Musicstack or Gemm (or Netsounds?), but I don't know any that specialise in Roots music.

You could take the reggae knowledge on every discussion board on the net and not have that information. Why do you need it?

Don't look at Ernie B. They are asking insane prices. Records that are worth 1 dollar are offered for 50 or 60 dollar...

It's the same with deadly dragon sounds. They are offering records and singles for 2/or 300 dollar, that can be bought on ebay for 40 or 50 dollar ( or less )

But I don't care, I simply don't buy anything from these sites, because I can get a lot more on ebay for the same amount of money.
