well i got it cause I support local record shops. Go there often. And they let me hear it in the shop. the other options were tubbys and a few other over seas shops. They have a new unit coming out! will include more knob functions, delay and reverb as well. saw it in store but not sure if they put it on the site yet. will be around 200 USD.

mine is clean small and simple. requires a battery so when I gig there is no need to connect to a power strip. And I dont play out much so for me its no big deal anyhow.

Cool didnt realise their local to you, lucky!. Sounds good having one with a delay built in, its been needed, aslong as its selectable.

Battery is good, using a battery instead of mains gives a better sound, lots of people have tried to convert theirs to battery.

Am I the only person listening to reggae that REALLY doesn't like all these bloody electronic sirens in the mix?

Depends on how much you do it and if you over do it.
Some mixes sound good without any siren, but with practice you can make it work and sound decent.

Perhaps the problem for me with sirens is when the levels are wrong, and the sirens are too loud compared to the music?

I actually sold on the first Jah Shaka 12 inch I bought straight away because the sound effects were really annoying (to me).

I'll probably get burned at the stake for that heresy...

Which shaka tune was that?. I think sirens can go nuts, especially with the feedback control, i intend to put a limiter between my siren unit/delay and the mixer so it cant go too loud.

some pple use sirens&other effects poorly, esp/mostly those who can't change from a tune to d other well, they cover up fe d mixing flaws.
