Re: "no false prophets"bro yakhya
Personally, I only thought one song on the entire album was REALLY good...the rest of them weren't necessarily bad, but they just were not that great!
Glad to hear that somebody else appreciated that album though.
I vaguely remember the Production credits show that there were a lot of really good artists/musicians involved, I guess that's why I expected it to be a lot better. sold it a long time ago, so I cannot provided this info, but if anybody has it right now, please share the info on the back cover, as Bro. Yahya has an interesting story...
PS. I often wondered if this was the same Yahya as "Yaya and Think", but just his solo outing???

I did ask about the LP like 2 years ago and i must say the response was not that great, it was to the point of "The worst LP out there" lol
I had interest to it coz it's backed by the Roots radics

Certainly not the "worst LP out there", but far far away from being the best, specially for an 83 radics output...
But still there's some nice tracks, specially the opening track "so long" is really good comparing to the rest of it...
It's funny to hear him singin' all the time "allah" instead of "jah", as his a muslim i think...
Blessings,

is Bro Yahya muslim?
"Brother Yahya (born Edwin McBean, son of Mat McBean), was born in Jamaica, St Elizabeth in 1949. He came to England in 1960, aged 11 where he lived with his aunt in Peckham"
Az Yaya is from Benin

Hi
This LP is interesting. Does anyone know more about this Bro Yahya, his history, other issues ?
I always find a bit strange jamaican reggae singers converted to islam and rejecting coloniastists' christianism while the muslim slavery system affected more africans than the european's and lasted for 1400 years ... Anyway, I like this kind of weird encounters, rasta musicians, muslim singer, and in the end nice music.
Cheers
Ben
