This is not naievity. This is common sense. Look, I am not defending him and neither am I condoning what he did!! All I am saying is why should it take this long to nab him and stop the rot - seven years - what a joke! Babylon would not have let him scot-free all this time- knowing full well that he was breaking the law. If this really is copyright breach - does it need seven years to detect and bring to book. There is more to this saga I am sure. Now tell me how much has been lost by artists and producers alike in the seven years - and you tell me that Babylon was investigating. I suspect some artist were coniving and dealing with him.

You still do not address the issues I raised about certain websites selling music for less than the price of a lolly or teaspoon of sugar. The rot must stop! The only way to stop it is to unite and rally behind innovative marketing ideas. The cheats and the pirates will always exist but we need to look at availability of reggae as a market commodity. I am not happy when I go into the music shops and the reggae music as genre is in some hidden corner. Remember reggae as a music should be there for all to enjoy. I personally have sought high and low for certain artists example - Matumbi, Cimarons, Misty in Roots, Black Slate, Lee Perry, Bunny Wailer - and what you find are just compilations or over priced second hand items. You are told the records are no longer on sale or the master tapes have been deleted! Believe me the market for the music is out there. The very fact that these idots were selling tens of thousands of CDs mostly reggae is not only because of the pricing issue. It was mainly in my opinion availability in a readily accessible format.

What really surprised me is the size of his catalogue!! Where was he getting the satff. It is good to see VP, Jetstar, Juno coming up with download facilities, the more players you have, the more the competition and the better the price for the consumer. Simple economics. Why do we have to take lessons from the likes of Audiomaxxx?

The record companies have to lower the price of CDs by 50% or more to survive and compete with the computer and internet music sales sites.
They say the CDs are going to be phazed out.
The price of a blank cd say 10p, casing, printing say 10p per cd,say 20p a cd to produce. even at £4 a cd would be better for everyone, just cos the record companies would have to take a lower % cut, they might have to do that to survive.
The artist only gets some 2% or 3% of the record anyway. The shops used to take a big % 20%-30% and the record company 50%-60%.
The record companies are getting bought up by big companies, with nothing to do with music. Its just happened to EMI last month. It has shown that the record company is a dying trade.

The music industry is closing ranks. If you cant beat them join them.Is what they are doing right now.
Audiomaxxx sponsers a lot a music festivals in the USA and since the artists are contracted to play at these without knowing Audiomaxxx is behind the whole event.
Further more, Audiomaxxx`s money and profits have been frozen so they are relieing on ticket sales for funding their court case but its easier to do a runner with the money and set up something else under a different name.
Of course there is no new info on the Audiomaxxx court case.

I could name the festivals that Audiomaxxx sponsers but we will wait a bit longer for me to say, there is anuff info for someone to take in here first.

When the bust took place they only mentioned one of the four people arrested raj, i could also say the names of the other three.
Raj has a boss that he is answerable too. They are using Raj as a scape goat for the ones who are the puppet master. i dont talk to your little workers like raj the CRIA and you really think the major labels want Audiomaxxx closed down i dont think so thats the only way the major labels are getting paid through cd sales and getting involved with the internet music sales.
Its about time common sense was used.
I have been in the music bizz for 30 years and these rookies are telling me about my trade. ha ha.
They are also scared that anything said is in googles search engine. ha ha.
There are quite a few illegal mp3 music download sites and if you cant deal with some easy raj fool then you aint gonna stand a chance against the Russian illegal mp3 illegal download sites.
If the music industry cant beat them they will join them.
EMI has now been bought up by some big babylon firm in corpirate bizzness the major record labels are nothing to do with music just rip it off. so they are closing ranks.cos they gotta pay the banks back what they owe.

There aint gonna be no court case, dont you get it, and anyone who who defends audiomaxxx is on their payroll.
Now the stepping time is time to know raj is going to do a runner with tickets sales of the festivals he sponsers so the lawyers aint got a clue at £400 GBP an hour maybe you should be paying me messing up my trade in the music bizz. someones got to put food on the table.
You notice that no one is going to get any artists, label or producer to give evidence at audiomaxxxs trial.
So you think its all gone quiet, thats when its all happening when it seems quiet.

peace
