Are you talking about the techniques as vocal group or as label?

as label.

there are a few older recordings which i think were taken from channel one

aside this how come king jammys and techniques share same darker shade of black version on super cat album you have learn fi ride, or is it just taken for the album maybe?

learn fi ride is probably a king jammys tune which got also released on cat's techniques album "boops". that would make most sense

I suppose that there is no connection between the two labels... it is possible that some techniques tunes were recorded at the channel one but nothing more!
