I came across the original Virgin pressing of U Roy's Dread In A Babylon (1975) at the local record store.
[cover=784,914]
The condition is VG but what is more interesting is that it comes with a promo photo of U Roy holding a staff.
All of the above for 10 dollars!
Any clue to its worth?
Thanks in advance.

not that much. Remember it's released by virgin a huge international company, not some obscure label located in someone's basement...
from Genesis to Revelation here I come ,here I come to dub the nation.

It's actually not that often that the original 'twin virgins' label version of this is seen. More often you'll see the later label with a solid colour (red or green) and a smaller version of the 'other' 'twin virgin' artwork.

i prefer the tr groovemaster sleeve with different pic of him licking chalice in a yard, so wicked! i don't own it, and already own the virgin press, but will probably pick it up one day for this sleeve alone.

Thanks for your comments. I can't pass it up since, as Leggo stated, coming across a press with the twins is something that occurs once in a blue moon. 10 dollars ain't bad

Sorry, see next post..
We need a whole lot more of Jah Jah and a lot less rock and roll.

Whilst I hate to turn this into a Virgin label thread, can anyone tell me if this sleeve is original with the vinyl ? It was broufght secondhand and I have always had a slight doubt about it.

Hey Amigo. That is the original cover on that 12 inch disco. I have this in MINT original shape, it came from a collector who would NEVER have mixed his covers so we can be sure it is the real deal.
Quite rare that one, I've seen it a few times but not many.
As for the record in question. I love the TR Groovemaster issue. *BUT* this Virgin cover is very special to me.
When I was first getting into reggae music, and collie bush, this record was doing the rounds. We all loved the smoking hard in a yard cover and all did our best to emulate U Roy's clouds of smoke and those oh-so-red eyes!
