I have been thinking about purchasing two Niney produced various artist compilations and would like some feedback on whether they are worth picking up. They are :
1, Truth and Rights Observer Style.
2, Rock On: Greatist Hits from the Observer Label.
Look forward to your comments as always.
Respect
Dave

Re: Niney the Observer
Greetings Rootsman Dave from the Emerald Isle...
Have both Truth & Rights and Rock On
Personally speaking Rock On is the better one..
Paymaster - Captives is Gregory Isaacs at his peak and the Deejay Ranking Bucknor is class (haven't) heard or seen much else by him). Halfway by D.Brown is a classic...Sweet Cornell Campbell vocals on My Heart Is Clean and then there's the excellent Junior Byles Track Weeping with some slack lyrics by I-Roy on the version. Teach them Love is a top rankin "feel good" tune. Like the sleeve notes say this contains the hits from the Observer label well worth it. Truth and Rights contains a lot of tracks I have seen on other compliations but it has its high points too...Warrior Johnny Clarke, Clap The Barber (Guess Whos coming ..Riddim) Michael Rose, a couple of cuts of Blood & Fire Riddim

Dave,
I'd throw this one in the cart too, [cover=4716,4112] you won't be disappointed.
Like DOOP said, it has been two years, so I'm assuming you've picked up all the Niney you would ever need...
Regards,
Chris

Re: Niney the Observer
I'd make a bee line for the superb Observation of Life LP, if you can afford it! One recently fetched several hundred bucks on ebay.
[cover=3667,3873]
I have a spare copy in excellent shape if anyone has very deep pockets
