Prince lincoln -21 st century this man was a visionary
Clinton Fearon all these latest albums are wonderful he s the most prolific with always a high quality of melodies & vocals

all the VI crew Midnite -ras mek peace- Bambu station (2powerful albums)Iba Tuff lion etc
one said Ossie dellimore -Freedom journal truly deep roots
KWAME OAU & the other album "How Sweet it Is" deep roots too
Groundation is one of the most famous

i just can add one band from 90s from UK Try to discover the sound of "ONE STYLE MDV" truly deep roots band from United Kingdom two major sets -International Struggle - &- The right to say-

i agree with collieman... Prince Lincoln Thompson's 21st Century is a great roots set that can even be enjoyed by any golden era roots purists.

Clinton Fearon's Dubwize set is also pretty killer IMO...

I think kalcidis mentioned it but, Michael Roses African Roots and Warrior sets are pretty good, a little too modern on some tracks for my taste but still got that wailing waterhouse stylee...

What about Horace Andy's latest release with Sly & Robbie and all the greats at Harry J?

Fully recorded in 2007, mostly with new material, and the best ja musicians still alive, "Livin' It Up" is a real journey back to the "golden era".

IMO perhaps the best and rootsiest release in reggae since 1990.
