its the first time I hear that they are the same persons. I dont believe this is true, Mundell was shot and Castell died of some illness, as far as I know

stepping razor: the voice on clean up your heart sounds much more like mundell than lacksley castell does.(compare it to Jah Will Provide for example)

I cannot understand how people can not hear the extremely obvious differences in Mundell & Castell's voices..

from memory My Woman Can is Lacksley.. I don't remember hearing Mundell's voice there.. will have to relisten but can guarantee that Lacksley is definitely there..

Princess Lady & Black Sheep are Lacksley.

Castell and Mundell are two totally different people. They had similar voices.

Hugh Mundell is one of my favorite singers and have been listerning to him for over 30 years.
The problem occers when people these days dont know dem reggae history and are getting fooled by bogus claims so they can put stuff on complilation LPs to make money.
It was a big thing in reggae and hip hop back in the day to use different names.Income tax reasons.

You have a very good point.. Hugh Mundell used the name Lacksley Castell so he wouldn't get taxed on those other 5 dollars he made

(but I suggest you check your ears anyway)

Also if the artist was contracted by the record label or studio on a 5 lp deal and could not work outside their contract deal.
Guru out of gangstar or is it Baldhead slick and the click for instance.
Thats where it gets complicated understanding hip hop and reggae.
Me as a muscian and artist has 15 different names i go by, call each name a company director in its own right 100% creative control.

As i say no one can copy the voice of singers like Hugh Mundell, Horace Andy, Gregory with or without his false teeth, Dennis Brown they are so distinktive that my ears know what im saying about one of my faverite singers for over 30 years. Its all got mucked up by the mp3s and ipoddies fooling people.
Thats a perfect world where you get nothing for nothing on file sharing mp3s.
Bun the mp3s and pc music.

I really find it shocking that people can mix up the 2 voices..

If it wasn't for the Jah Fire LP which includes more Lacksley Castell tunes than Hugh Mundell (and is originally credited to Mundell), I think nobody would mix the two up.. They would be treated as 2 different artists & the difference in voices would be more evident to those who are convinced by labels / credits rather than voices.

I have very big ears
