Just saw Mad Professor live...!

this weekend at a music festival i had the joy of seeing Mad Professor mix live! he was at the controls with a keyboard and effect boards plus accompanied by an irie sister on vocals snippets/dance moves/vibes...

Most of the set featured cuts from Dub Me Crazy pt 1+2, with a wicked Kunta Kinte version to kick it off!

i was right in front of the bass speaker, and each time he would drop and come back with the bassline its thunderous power vibrated my entire body, sending the vibes deep into my soul!

it was a beautiful experience, but unfortunately most of the crowd (mostly funk/jam fans) didnt see that same beauty...their loss, one day they will come to know his mastery!

it was evident after his set that he and the vocalist were kinda bummed by the lackluster reaction. i got to talk with them afterwards and let them know that even though not a lot of peaople were feeling it, those that did were REALLY feeling it and appreciated every second of it!

He played the sped up vocals of Yabby You's Ambitiousness (verses only) over a more dance-oriented beat to close the show, and upon commenting to him after the show on how i liked that mash-up, he beamed a huge smile and said "you know Yabby you?" obviously very surprised that i picked that up. after our talk, he and the vocalist were wearing huge grins and were obviously left with a better impression of the show than when they walked off stage initially.

it was a killer show and i strongly encourage anyone who has the chance to see him do his thing!

I man follow the Mad Prof from '84 and still he give me good vibration with his shows.

YES I! i was worried i was going to hear some digi cuts (not my taste at all), but was relieved to hear solid steppers riddims all night!
