My apologies for going a bit off topic on a thread today, i have had major relationship issues over the last 24 hours but im also getting weary of the lack of appreciation of knowledge by one individual.
I really dont see how the forum can grow and learn from each other when people are not able to accept when they are in the wrong or at least accept others oppinions.
Im also concerned after us having a warning about arguements on here in the past that the forums may end up being removed and without moderation and the escalation of conflict i just hope this doesnt happen'.
repect is due to you all.
I`m thinking its time for a break

Re: I`m thinking its time for a break
Everyone calm down and pass around the love. Remember the 'be nice' rule. If you can't keep to that one, then don't make any posts.
If you are going to make a post that has any kind of bad thing in it about another member then don't press 'go' - don't make that post!
Maybe just read and listen for a while. Don't make any posts until you feel better about things.
We don't want more trouble on here. So please everyone, just sit down and reason and stop your tribal war!

Re: I`m thinking its time for a break
hey
been away a good while like maybe a few months and i had no idea that there has been such petty angst on this board.
hard to beleive that people take things so seriously that they can thrive on negativity and one-upping one another on an internet message board.
i think that there is too much angriness in this world, as do many of you, but what is worse is how people tend to identify themselves with this angst. for example, "i hate this, (and that is what partly gives me my identity)." make sense?
this is a reggae site. we share the commone love of reggae music and jamaican music. that is what we should be here to discuss. the off topic forum has had some crazy vibes in it, and although interesting to read, there is often not the need to write in your opinion if you know all it will do is have a debate as a response. opinions are opinions, and many opinions seem to be scribed on the board as right over someone else's opinion. that is the problem!!! opinions are opinions and facts are facts. the forum off topic seems to be a lot of opinion clash. and that is a sad thing. there is no reasoning when such a clash is the norm.
those who observe and learn from all the opinions they they read and hear can just kick back and soak it all in and truly absorb. the more we absorb and process as observers the smarter and more true we can become (in my opnion).
so set aside our differences in opinions, and realize that we need not to always have the last word. the peaceful man is the one who tends to be the wise man. the non-aggressive man tends to be the peaceful man. the wise man is one who observes and listens.
so everyone just simmer down.
by the way, i do not re-read my posts before i hit "post" because i like to write as if i were in conversation, so forgive me if i am rambling on and tangenting in directions unrelated. so take my words iwth a grain of salt so to speak but do know that i write with peace in mind and nothing but peace for all here that visit this site.
and keep listening to the reggae that is why we visit this site in the first place.

thought aside:
about only pre 1985 stuff
i feel like if pre 85 riddims get relick with current artist, it is ok to post
if artist started before 85, its ok to post.
if pre 85 artist do a current interview is ok to post.
and so on ina same style
somebody diss me for posting a new super cat intervew last month because the interviewer was a dancehall yute. some man fraid a di time ting.

and i also feel that everything after 85 could be posted in off talk but the mods should rename it to "everything after 85" or something like that. that would resolve the main problem which you people a talk through da whole thread.

That's a good suggestion from DonDigital. I agree, keeping post 85 stuff separate, or over in off-topic, is sensible. This site is about the earlier, so-called 'golden age' of reggae.
