I would like to know the meaning of this word as i hear it so often,is it something to do with hunger? bless

More likely jomo is referring to Don Carlos or Wailing Souls.
Most people don't come here looking for Lutan Fyah info. (td)

As for 'White Squall', not sure the exact root or direct reference point but it definitely has too do with lean times / poverty.

well, no one has stated the literal definition of a white squall, which is (from wikipedia):

"a sudden and violent windstorm phenomenon at sea which is not accompanied by the black clouds generally characteristic of a squall. The name refers to the white-capped waves and broken water, its meager warning to any unlucky seaman caught in its path."

the don carlos song definitely talks about lean times / poverty as Matthew has said. so, perhaps reggae musicians refer to a white squall as a wave of white European influence that has oppressed Africans world-wide, which relates to what Gingly Fly said: white squall = babylon.

White Squall refers to when appears someting like white ashy around de mouth an lips becas it´s considered as sign of hunger, famine, hard times
