The Studio One stuff is the best, certain tracks off both the albums; Bandulu, Wine Of Violence Yes I'm Ready etc. but the real treasures are the original 45 versions of I Man A Rasta, Rastaman Camp and the sublime Homeward Bound, which is one of the most beautiful songs reggae music has to offer as far as I'm concerned. Also his version of Going Home, also recorded by Johnny Mathis and Ken Boothe, is eye-wateringly touching, plus Go Away From Me Pretty Woman, Africa Here I Come and nuff more. Coxsone caught Freddie at his best. Some great stuff after of course, but S1 is the cream.

Yes Sir Bellyas, i agree!
Also a classic tune on studio1 12" is 'Move on israelites'. Wicked recut of the heptones 'be a man'.
Freddy put out lots of vintage stuff on other labels as well though!!

What's amazing to me re: Freddie - he is still making very nice songs. The better, current songs are found on 45s but the point is, he still picks good riddims to record on and his lyrics, voice and sense of melody has not diminished with time.
