Barrington Spence Speak Softly LP- Thoughts?

Post by ephraim »

Sighted this one in a secondhand shop. On
the Trojan Label. Produced by Tony Robinson and backed by Skin, Flesh & Bones. Looks original, was there ever a repress? Any thoughts on this one?

i like this set, but never seem to get the urge to hear it. fairly average riddims and vocals to match, IMO of course...

Just my opinion, but the riddims are wicked! Skin, Flesh, & Bones...... what can you say? Can't go wrong with Sly, Lloyd Parks, Ranchie, etc..... Barrington Spence is very derivative of Ken Boothe, but is soulful, but the backing is great in my humble opinion! If you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for the LP, take a chance on it!

I had this one a few years back and sold it.
I remember it being very lackluster IMHO.
