my vinyl collection is actually very small but all I have I have ripped to mp3 AAC or whatever. All on an iPod.
Walk to work 40mins of pure roots and dub joy. A few hundred CDs also ripped.
Not to mention the interjection of some punk, Stax/Volt, Chess, Motorhead(!) (love their early stuff), Kraftwerk, Afro-beat (Fela Kuti et al), Kishore Kumar, Asha Bosle...yeah a load of audio joy.
Not quite the same as putting a favourite LP on the turntable (record player!) but that is a pleasure reserved for when small children are not sleeping - the rare occasions when I have the place to myself...

These last days I listened to Aswad meets Jah Shaka in Addis Ababa a lot. An album of pure riddim (no vocals, not much dubwise mixing) - just bass, drums and piano. Very good! Really has that melancholic UK sound, like reggae for rainy days, and awesome steppers type drumming.

Check the 12 inch version of that Steppah. It's massive! It's got the bass to make the place shake.
