I'm trying to understand the meaning of "Come a little bit closer" by eric donaldson...does someone know the lyrics?

Hi Mauro, I love that song!
I have googled it and it seems to be a cover, here is what I got:

I think it's pretty much the same as Eric Donaldson one, I don't know if the man was called 'Jose' in his version, will have a listen when I came home.
