travel with love

Post by benjamin »

ites,

i just love this amazing album but i was wandering if this is a proper full length album or a nighthawk compilation of justin hinds recordings with the wailers. And if it's a true album, why was it never released on vynil ? I'd love to have a vynil of it !
thanx

well. I know the tune 'travel with love' was first released as a treasure Isle single (TIS 261 - 1969), so I guess it's a compilation album...

well this one was recorded between 1982 and 1984 (and it clearly sounds so). I think some other tunes are covers of previous Hinds versions.

To me all Nighthawk albums were issued on vinyl first.
A vinyl copy shouldn't be that hard to find.

This record was specially designed for Justin Hinds by Bob Schoenfeld and Leroy Pierson. It took Bob Schoenfeld years to convince Justin to come down from Steertown to Kingston and into a recording studio.

IMHO this album is one of the greatest recordings ever to be made on earth.

This is no collection of previously available material, all songs were recorded only for that special album. One or two known songs were redone for that reason.

And of course, released in 1984, for years it was only available on vinyl.

Me too! But I think that the original version of the song Travel With Love is the better one. One of my all time favorites.

thank you bellyman and you all.. Indeed an amazing set with the wailers at their top inspiration and a fantastic sound. I'll keep an eye on e-bay for the vynil copy !

ps : the RA must mention vynil in addition to cd for this one then.
