Hi, its me again.
Can anyone give some info on the above album. I assume the tracks on this album are the dubs to Roy Francis Phase One releases including dubs of the tracks on the "Children of Jah" and "We are Getting Bad" compilations.
If I am correct, I can also assume this album is worth picking up.
Please let me know.
Many Thanks.
Respect
Dave

I only have 'Children of Jah' and yes, I think about two songs from there are dubbed on this one. I believe the mixes to be identical on both albums, but I could be wrong. There is also a dub of "help us jah" by the untouchables.
All in all, it's a very nice dub album, the mixing is not too spectacular imo, but the riddims sound great, with that crisp phase one sound.

Re: Phase one Dubwise
Rootsman, I'm a big fan of Phase One sound. I answered several times this particuliar question as many others about the Phase One discography.
One of these answers I did on the BAF forum:
Hope it helps. Otherwise I insist on the fact the the reissue of "Children Of Jah" LP by the Chantells used the original cover art and title but presents the music from another set called "The Chantalls (sic) Collection" from the 80's...

It also seems very similar, or some tracks are actually the same as, Dawn of Creation Dub, by the Revolutionaires.
I have that LP, and also the double CD Phase One Dub Wise. Good sounds both. Worth getting.

Dawn Of Creation is actually the UK press of the Phase One Dubwise vol 2 set. Sagitarius being a kinda of UK Phase 1 sublabel. Phase 1 being either Ja or US press (also UK for very few 12" & 7"). Other related label is Black Lion which reissue a couple of 12".

Dave,
I would add to Warieka that you can check out XRAY Dub Pages at http://xraymusic.co.uk/
The have pages for Phase 1 productions. One for singles and one for albums. A great resource for Tubby and DEB as well.
While I haven't heard this set, I haven't heard any Phase 1 stuff that I didn't like. IMO Roy Francis made as good use of the discomix as anybody, if not the best. Everything I've heard reflects a commitment to quality.
Ites,
Papa D
