Stephens on Marley

Post by oddsnobb »

Happened to bump this and like to give it to those who might not have been aware of it:

http://www.geocities.com/onelovemcg/bob.htm

where there is a collection of articles about Bob Marley. Gregory Stephens seems to be a scholar, a reggae fan and a marleyite.
He writes well and objectively on Marley and his reviews of Marley books are very informative.

In these writings there is much discussion about Marley's message, lyrics, prophecies etc..
But not about his music and this point of view made me realize why so many whites fancy especially Marley, but not reggae as music.
They want the Message, the Prophet, the Revolutionary.
Reminds me of another Bob, namely, Dylan.

Love to hear the progressive reggae version of the 'Thick As A Brick' album.
